This is part two of a two-part series on which is the best sadhana/yajna according to the Bhagavad Gita. Through sadhanas we seek to transform ourselves. It is a quiet inner revolution by which, the way you interact with yourself …
There is a lot of confusion around the word sadhana which is reflected in the questions asked often – What will happen if I skip my sadhana for a few days? What is the best sadhana? If I continue doing …
A random quote, a book, a video popping up in your feed, a friend recommending that you ‘must-try’ out a class/course/camp/podcast or just seeing the remarkable transformation of a friend or relative into a cheerful, loving and objective person – these are some of the factors that made you ‘try’ out the teachings of Vedanta.
The truth is that we love to share..
We share recipes, immunity boosters, fund raising appeals, motivational videos….
We recommend shows to watch, books to read, songs to listen, discount deals, classes to join, social media handles to follow…
Deep down we all want to make a difference.
When it comes to Vedanta we hesitate to share..Why?
We hesitate because we worry that people will misunderstand us or not approve of us or not value Vedanta as much as we do…But the same can happen when it comes to sharing recipes, immunity boosters and so on… But that feels okay.
An insight or an idea spreads because we share and live the teachings of Vedanta.
Perhaps our sharing may help, perhaps not.
Someone reached out to us with a recommendation and ignited the flame for us. In turn we pass on the flame of knowledge forward just as relay runners who protect and carry the Olympic flame. It travels across continents and a sea of differences. The runners are not worried about whether the flame will reach the destination. Their task is to carry the flame for a while and pass it on carefully and respectfully. They trust the other runners. Each runner does his/her bit.
The flame burns ever so brightly. We keep it burning.
