Blessed we are
Blessed we are, that this land and its people recognise the inherent intelligence in the universe and hence the responsible devatā-s, deities that help to manage the different departments of the universe. We fulfill our responsibilities by acknowledging their role gratefully in our lives and worship them with our daily actions including puja. We do this deva yajña.
Blessed we are, that this land and its people recognise the invaluable contribution of our parents and ancestors. We fulfill our responsibilities to them by taking care of them here and hereafter. We do this pitr yajña.
Blessed we are, that this land and its people recognise the role of the Vedas and the Rishis. We fulfill our responsibilities towards them by assimilating what they say in a way that we live the vision of fullness and oneness. We carry the vision bestowed upon us, forward. We do this rishi yajña.
Blessed we are, that this land and its people recognise the interconnectedness of all life forms, all plants, animals and the elements. We fulfill our responsibilities towards them by doing all that we can to protect and preserve these life forms. We do this bhuta yajña.
Blessed we are, that this land and its people recognise our interdependence with all people (including family) of different attitudes, color, religion, gender. We fulfill our responsibilities towards them by upholding dharma that promotes their happiness and welfare. We do this manuśya yajña.
Blessed we are that this land and its people have moved forward by fulfilling their responsibilities of this five fold yajña, by knowing that only when you fulfill your responsibilities the other person’s rights are fulfilled.
So blessed we are that this land and the all embracing vision of oneness is not exclusive. This vision and hence the responsibilities it entails on all of us extends to the entire land that we call our home – this earth and all that surrounds it.
Prayers and wishes that we do whatever it takes, for India and the world.
